Dr. Cavalcanti has degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronic Systems (PUC-MG), a master's degree in Computer Science from UNICAMP State University of Campinas and a PhD in Computer Science from UFMG Federal University of Minas Gerais and the Unviersity of Surrey (UK). He is a full professor at the Federal University of Ouro Preto and head of the Computer Science Department. He has been coordenated innovation, extension, research and technological development projects. Currently works with cybersecurity based on DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) mainly Blockchain and Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG). One of the focuses is the application of DLT for Industrial applications (industry 4.0) and protection of digital assets based on tokenization (NFT). He is the coordinator of the KryptoLab laboratory and research group.
